The Rain
Written, performed and produced by Chris Henderson

Verse 1 You came close to turning round
Not because I miss you
You didn't have to offer me everything
I could see us burning down
I could see us burning down...

Verse 2 You promised me that where I went
You would follow
If I moved then you would go with me
I surrender all that I have
And I don't think you ever will

I stand alone, there's nobody left to reassure me
How will I know what is safe...

Chorus And then the rain came
Falling down and trickling over,
sliding down my window pane
The children laughed as they played in the puddles and I dreamt
Take my hand and I'll take you to shelter
I'll cover you and keep you safe
Close your eyes and make a wish and I wish...

Verse 3 I took a long walk by myself, through the fields
The ground was warm in the summer sun,
so I went to the beach
I looked out over the sea, I needed to breathe
I would swim a thousand miles

I took hold I was beginning to lose control
I'll be strong for me

Chorus And then the rain came
Falling down and trickling over,
sliding down my window pane
The children laughed as they played in the puddles and I dreamt
Take my hand and I'll take you to shelter
I'll cover you and keep you safe
Close your eyes and make a wish and I wish...
